What did Commvault announce?  

Commvault has acquired Clumio’s highly scalable cloud data protection technology to support critical cloud data and workloads in AWS, including but not limited to Amazon Simple Storage Service (AWS S3) and Amazon DynamoDB. Co-founders Poojan Kumar and Woon Jung and other key members of the Clumio team are joining Commvault as well.  

 

Why did Commvault acquire Clumio? 

As a market leading cyber resilience company, Commvault is focused on accelerating cloud-first innovation and helping organizations succeed in a multi-cloud world. With deep experience with AWS, Clumio will bolster our cyber resilience offerings and further extend market opportunities with AWS customers. This acquisition also enables us to strengthen support for critical cloud data and workloads in AWS, including but not limited to Amazon Simple Storage Service (AWS S3) and Amazon DynamoDB.  

 

How does this benefit Commvault’s customers and partners?

What happens to the Clumio brand name?

Now that the acquisition is complete, we will refer to the company as: Clumio, a Commvault Company. As we work through the integration, we will share any additional brand updates. 

 

How will Clumio’s technology be integrated into the Commvault Cloud platform? 

Commvault’s integration team is working closely with Clumio’s engineering leadership on a detailed integration plan and expects to complete the integration over the next few quarters. Until then, Clumio’s offering will remain as a standalone service.
