The Commvault Cloud platform has been designed with continuous business in mind. To enable continuous business, companies must be able to protect and restore the critical set of applications, assets, and processes required to continue operations. We call this “minimum viability” and provide a discovery and design framework to help organizations reach their goals.

From simplified operations to deeper integrations across hybrid and cloud-native environments, Commvault’s latest platform release delivers innovations that help IT teams achieve minimum viability and maximize recoverability, all while improving cyber resilience and operational agility.

Here are some highlights for the newest capabilities for protecting your essential data and environments. From cloud and on-premises workload protection to data and application security, Commvault continues to expand our SaaS and Software backup and recovery solutions to address customer needs. Refer to the 11.40 SaaS and Software release notes for detailed information.

Backup & Recovery for DevOps

We’re excited to announce the general availability of Commvault®️ Cloud Backup & Recovery for DevOps. This enterprise-grade solution delivers comprehensive protection for DevOps environments, including Azure DevOps, GitHub, and GitLab.

Whether you need to safeguard repositories, pipelines, or metadata, Commvault simplifies and secures your DevOps backup operations, enabling fast and granular recovery—all through our unified platform.

Cloud Workload Protection

Commvault is focused on enabling customers to protect their data wherever it lives. Cloud-native support has been updated to include several new capabilities, including:

  • Auto-Scaling for Amazon EC2 Recovery: Optimize workload performance and reduce costs by leveraging a mix of purchase options and EC2 instance types.
  • Cross Geo Region Restore for Azure CVM: Easily restore VMs with customer-managed keys across different regions.
  • Protection for Google Cloud Virtual Machines and Persistent Disks: Enable reliable recovery for VMs and Persistent Disks through snapshots and streaming backup copies.
  • Unified Onboarding for Azure Blob Storage and Amazon S3 Object Storage: Simplify cloud object storage workload onboarding with a streamlined experience.

On-Premises Workload Protection

Data Storage Solutions

Protecting data backups involves saving the critical information to either an on-premises storage pool or to a cloud-hosted storage location. Commvault offers both solutions.

  • Air Gap Protect now supports using Google Cloud to secure sensitive information through isolated data copies for Frequent Access and Infrequent Access tiers.
  • HyperScale Edge provides a single-node storage pool for on-premises data protection with capacity up to 200TB. This can be used as Infrequent Access backup storage for standalone midmarket businesses or as a Frequent Access solution to provide quick access for remote locations that may use a corporate central site for a long-term AuxCopy.
  • IntelliSnap support includes integration with VAST data snapshots, SnapLock Compliance, and support for HPE Virtual Lock for safeguarding data.
