I have been using Metallic for a year but, would like to get certified.  Is this training included in the professional training?   Also, is the new portal (https://readiverse.commvault.com/learn) included if you are already a client or is there an extra cost?

Thanks, in advance.

Hey @Onno van den Berg,

Circling back on this. We have new certs planned for this year. The replacement for professional is being worked on (with a new name 🤐). We expect that to be available around June, as the initial major overhaul to all our certifications.

In the meantime, over the last month we released a ton of workload-specific content. We appreciate not everyone is looking for certifications, but there are a lot of folks that want to level up their knowledge or onboard new workloads. These are currently oriented towards SaaS but we’re building the software equivalent as well.

Just recently added to the Readiverse catalog:

  • Cloud Rewind
  • Cleanroom Recovery
  • Threat Scan
  • File Server
  • Oracle
  • Risk Analysis
  • Google Workspace
  • VMware
  • AWS EC2
  • Azure VMs
  • Microsoft SQL

Hi @JamesACS ,

Yes, below is the new link for training and certification.

Since Metallic is a SaaS service, we recommend completing the Commvault Engineer Certification, which includes training on Command Center operations.

To clarify Pradeep’s guidance, while we do not have certification courses for Metallic we are launching new training materials soon. The link for readiverse.commvault.com is correct. Keep your eye on that site.

Thanks @Suzanne Klausner.

@JamesACS regarding your other question regarding portal access - there is not cost for accessing the portal, and there is a mix of fee-based and free / on-demand trainings there and we’ll be adding more soon. If you have other questions, don’t hesitate to ask or you can also email enablement-help@commvault.com. Thanks!

@Suzanne Klausner does this include an updated Expert course? Last time it was refreshed is several years ago and as many things have changed including the shift from data protection to data security I really think it is time to put this all together. Additionally a training course it not only meant to gain knowledge about the innerworkings, but also allows Commvault to demonstrate its potential and possibilities. Think off blending in capabilities like Threat Scan, Threatwise but also the latest additions like Rewind. This is also why others are pushing hard on certifications and even making them mandatory as part of their benefit programs.

Nice! Looking forward! Is there anything in the pipeline to deliver an updated Expert course?

No replacement for expert planned at the moment, but we’re working on updating three certifications levels (Administrator, Engineer, Architect).
