Self Paced Engineer and Expert Course

Hi, I am a Commvault Partner new to the Community. I would also like to take the self paced Engineer (and Expert if available), but all I see that is available is the ILT paid ($3000) for Engineer and for Expert ($5000) ILT also. Am I looking in the wrong place? (I have the exams in progress but failed miserably not having taken any training prior at all)… Thanks, Tom

These listed courses are only delivered as Instructor led, and yes, the exams are free. I suggest working with your Commvault Partner Rep and discuss the full set of training courses needed. You can also refer to the section in Readiverse, Courses & Certifications by persona for more details on following you Learning Plans.

OK, but I thought another person in this thread (cannot find him now) stated that he would take them non-ILT and was just asking if the certification and the exams were the same for both types of courses (ILT or self-paced). The answer was regardless of the type (ie., PAID-ILT or free self paced), the certs and exams were the same…. LOL, If you saw by exam scores taking the exams with no courses first you would see I definitely need to take the Engineer and Expert courses first! I just wanted them self paced like the other person took them I think….

thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, there are no self-paced (eLearning) versions of the following ILT courses available:

Certified Engineer - Command Center

Certified Engineer - Commcell Cosnole

Certified Expert - Commcell Console

Anyhow, the corresponding free of charge Exam curricula (like e.g.  the “Certified Engineer - Command Center Exam - Partners and Employees”) come with downloadable courseware for self-studying purpose and in order to prepare for the exam. Just “Start Learning Now” once you have selected the exam curriculum and then on next page scroll down - almost to the bottom of the page - there you will find the course description und underneath the Repository with “Downloadable Course Materials” (URL embedded).

And to confirm, The exams attached to the individual ILTs are the same as in the corresponding standalone exam curricula.

We are also working on a ‘new’ self-paced engineer course which will be available this quarter. It will also be heavily lab-driven - looking forward to releasing that. We’re just wrapping up the next few modules and lab components. 👍
