Hi all,

One of my students asked me if SQL Analytics databases can be backed up as a subclient for Microsoft SQL server. I saw that it is possible in Azure SQL but I couldn't find anything in the “normal” SQL server. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance!

Hi @Henk22 ,

Good day!

Protection of SQL analytics DB as normal DB is also supported

Ref : https://documentation.commvault.com/11.40/commcell-console/backing_up_sql_databases.html

Note : Only full backup is supported to back up the SQL Analysis Services databases.

Hi Sureshkumar,

Thanks a lot! Does this also apply to Commvault SaaS. The documentation you’re pointing at is about the Commcell Console. The customer unfortunately has SaaS.

Kind regards,

Henk
