Hi Team, As of now (03.10.2022) maintenance release 11.28.20 is available for a couple of weeks, 11.28.23 is available for a week now, but unfortunately there is no doc available of what does it fix https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/151669_list_of_maintenance_releases_for_commvault_platform_release_2022e.html I know that MR are refreshed once a month in docs, but since MR precedes documentation update my question is, is there a way to get some information about new MR sooner then docs update? Can I subscribe somewhere?  

Hi I have just created an SAP HANA backup using Commvault 11.24. And I have notices, that there is this idle job running all the time.  Is that normal when setting up a SAP HANA backup, that you have this job running all the time?When I am looking at the job, it is looking like it is a log backup

Hi all, I have reviewed 2 environments showing the same inconsistency, FR24 and FR28/2022E (On screenshots)On a storage policy that has a snap and a primary copy where encryption is used the following is seen:Java GUI > Properties on primary copy > Shows encrypted (Taken over from GDDB, as expected)What I expect to see in command center, when I review my backup copy job > Encryption Enabled: Yes, as we can see in the java GUI.What it actually shows:Encryption enabled: Unavailable When reviewing the snap job (Which does not use dedupe, and we do not encrypt it)In the command center it shows: Encryption enabled: YesIn java GUI it shows: Encryption enabled: No (As expected, because we do not encrypt the snaps) Is this somehow expected behavior, or should we raise a case to dig into this more?

I have been using the Commvault Powershell module v1 with great success for a while now.  Today I noticed at least 1 cmdlet is broken since upgrading some Commcells to 11.28.19.  Using Get-CVVirtualMachine, I have tested against multiple Commserves now and all just return VM not found or No VM’s found if you run with no parameters.  Normally this would return details for the specified VM or all VM’s if no parameter is used. I do have 1 Commcell still on 11.16 and the cmdlet still works fine.  This leads me to believe something is broken for this particular cmdlet in the newer versions of Commvault. I was curious if anyone else having this issue?  Or any problems with any other cmdlets from v1? Thanks

Hey good people at CV!We are getting hourly “Unusual performance drop detected in pruning” event viewer events.I have noticed there was a hotfix here: https://kb.commvault.com/article/77146 , however it seems that 11.28.10 is the currently installed version.At first glance and after reading a few threads here concerning the same issue before posting a repeat topic, I figured it might work itself out.Is there anything else that can be done? Hello all, is there a possibility to move the saved data from one library to another ?We have two full backups on which we have set the retention until next year. The rest of the backups continue with the normal retention of 30 days and 4 cycles. However, I would like to move the backups that need to be retained until next year to our object storage. I have already prepared the connection to the object storage. I just need to know how to move the data.  Kind RegardsThomas

Trying to check this option in the Retention tab of the Storage Policy copy, but it doesn't stay selected when I close and re-open the settings window. Am I missing something obvious?

Hi :) If I set it to schedule automatically for my fulls at 30 day intervals, will the fulls of the VMs residing on the subclient run at the same time? If yes, what does automatic scheduling provide? Regards

I have a customer who has configured SAML within their environment that’s currently on 11.28 (2022E). If they login via the Web Console/Command Center, the SAML authentication is required. Local users are unable to access the environment. However, when logging in via the CommCell Console, users are able to authenticate using either local accounts or SAML and access the environment.Is there anyway to enforce the use of only SAML on the CommCell Console and not allow local users to authenticate successfully?

The other day I noticed a Critical item in health dashboard under DDB backup section stating one of the store isn't protected.. Noticed the DDB store itself got auto created a day back keeping the old one active..  I noticed this across various environments where we have multiple DDB store with different ID gets created and all of them are actively used.. Couldn't find any documentation that explains it.. It would be helpful if someone throws some light here.. Thanks.. Below is the one i was referring to where DDB store 72 got auto created and if you notice for FS and DB agent store we have multiple ID’ present... 

HI Team,  Greetings!On the mount path, when i click view content(attached snap). last backup time is showing as 9/9/2022 but backups are running fine on the mount path. from storage policy, i can see that jobs are showing on the mount point by using view media. i am using sp11.20.85. looks like bug. did anyone have any idea about it ? 

I have installed Linux MA with RHEL 8 OS and attached a 2.9TB NVMe Disk  formatted using LVM and divided In equally into two partitions (1.4TB for each one ) when trying to add storage pool and specify DDB path I get an error (The path doesn’t have sufficient space to perform a DDB backup) although no data written yet  NVMe Partition with no data  

I am deleting a number of Storage Policy Copies  and have noticed that Big Data Apps Index backups do not age like other backups. I have manually copied these backups to long term storage and run data aging expecting the backup to disappear from my short term retention policy. It seems as though these backups do not recognise when there are multiple copies. do I need to manually delete the extra copies?

Hi,Today I ran auxiliary and backup copies via a Windows batch script and the qoperation command/xml parameters.It works well, but i wanted to do something more 21th centuries, more stable (the qcommand response sometimes change with new versions) and something redundant by using directly the webserver and the rest api.But i don’t find how to do it in the documentation. We have the possibility to create an auxiliary copy, but not to launch it. I’m quite surprised. Please say i'm wrong.Thank you.

We are currently accessing our Java GUI CommCell Console and SQL Server Management Studio, installed directly on the CommServe Server. According to the link found below, CommVault recommends installing these Management Utilities on a Proxy server, as the extract hereafter specifies:“Do not log on to the CommServe or MediaAgent computer directly. Instead, do the following:Use a virtual machine proxy computer that has the JAVA GUI and SQL Management Studio installed.Log on to the CommCell Console, and then access the MediaAgent computer.”https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp20/article?p=7885_1.htm Is this indeed the recommended practice, or are we okay leaving and accessing the CommCell Console directly on the CommServe Server (we are not accessing the Media Agents directly for management purposes)?Thank you. J

Hello,I am new to CommVault and attempting to remotely deploy MediaAgents and Virtual Server Agents using a PowerShell script.I created a custom package selecting the “Virtualization” role (Per this article: https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/135950_installation_roles_and_packages.html). I did not create a self-extracting executable file because it failed to generate one, so my package files are all contained with a folder.The package successfully installs, but it is only installing the “File System Core” component. I configured a Global Command Center by registering the remote CommCells as outlined in https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/151227_global_command_center.html.  When you register the remote CommCell, it asks for the Service CommCell host name along with username and password.  It then reaches out and synchronizes the service CommCells.For some reason, when I look at the CommCell names under Service CommCells, it is inconsistent.  Some are showing a CommCell ID/Registration number while others have the full hostname and others have the short CommCell name.Where is it pulling that CommCell Name from?  Can it be edited?It would be nice if you could edit the CommCell names on the Service CommCells page to input a friendly name so that the other admins would know which one it was.  Perhaps that would be an enhancement?  Right now under Actions I only see Refresh and Delete.
