VM backup that is completing is not showing upThe Commvault software was removed from CLIENT1 and we added the CLIENT1 to the VM backups.I am backing up a VM in Commvault named CLIENT1 but I am not able to see it in any client groups.We are able to view all other VM’s not named CLIENT1.
Hey champs, Any one have any experience of priority between Network Gateways? There should be a setting priority=1 in FwConfig.txtWould that work well to set in VSA servers in a VMware cluster to spans over 2 datacenters to prioritize the traffic to the closest Network Gateway where all backup infrastructure is behind those proxies? Does anyone know if it’s safe to delete the “OneTouch” folder (or just it’s contents) from a Windows CommVault agent installation? One of our servers is running low on space and I can see that the OneTouch folder is occupying over 4GB. It contains over 1,200 old folders, and every folder contains these three files:DiskShadowOutputSource.txt DiskshadowScript.txt ExportedFirewallConfig.wfwI’ve searched online and couldn’t find any references to the OneTouch folder or the above files, so I’m unsure if these are safe to get rid of. Also, it would be good to know why these folders are generated, and if they’re only temporary, why doesn’t CommVault delete them automatically? Should I create a Scheduled Task to delete these folders on a regular basis?Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
I would like to covers about problem with Commvault.The problem concerns the configuration of the Virtual Lab functionality.When attempting to configure a policy, Commvault will not be able to "see" CV_VLAB_GATEWAY or any network configured in the VMware environment. Such a machine is in the client's Vmware environment.I will be very appreciate for help
Hopefully this is an easy one?When I “Show Virtual Machines” on the Client computer tab in user preferences I can see every VM that has ever existed in my environment (VMware). Is there an easier way to clean this up other than going through and right click deleting every client that I am sure will never be needed again? I realise why this would be the case as you may well need to restore a long gone VM but it’s such a mess!Thanks very much

I am sure that I am using the correct credentials for the vCenter to browse. hi, i was working with a customer who has long running synthetic fulls.which disrupts the Incremental backup schedule. so we entered as we used to normally do for indexing V2 clients the bjMAllowIncrWithSynthFull add setting.but it does not seem to work, and i am not able to find a reference to the setting in the latest documentation.is this still available? kind regards, Thos Gieskes.

HelloI have a Windows 2008R2 VM files servers of 18TB that I backup by VM only with a name XXI will change the server by another VM windows 2019 with a name XY that I will copy the files (18 TB)When the copie is done I will close VM - XX and rename VM XY in XX.How the deduplication will handel the copied data in the back end ? Hi All. I have a question regarding restore of data which resides on a offsite private cloud where clients have no access. Setup is:On prem Client network with servers in backup.→ Firewall in between with port open for backup traffic.On prem Backup network with MediaAgents and storage.→ Firewall in between with port open for aux copy data.MediaAgents with offsite private cloud storage containing Aux copies of client data. Clients do not have access to the offsite MediaAgents/copy, so my question is, how do I make a restore of data from the offsite cloud, when the On prem clients and the offsite MediaAgents cannot talk to each other directly? Is it possible to route restore traffic via the on prem MediaAgents acting as a proxy some how? Would the network gateway via outgoing routes be the solution? Any suggestion would be appreciated. Hello,Our VMware Livesync validation failed due to “No host is compatible with the virtual machine”. FYI, this source VM has 48 CPU. We only has 1 ESXi host at DR site and this host does not has enough resources to cater CPU from this VM.Do we have any ways that we can configure Livesync to change the CPU on the destination VM?Regards,Asyraf
Hi,I have an issue where my user have application that the license tied to MAC address of the vm. When I do restore the vm (overwrite existing), the vm restored having different MAC address than original. Is this supposed to happen? From time to time there are those that have backups for clients that were once protected by pre-V11 agents that have since been unlicensed and protected by classic v1 indexed VM backups. There are odd occasions when this Known Issues for VMware VM-Centric Operations (commvault.com) gets me tripped up when I want to move to VM Centric, but it becomes a show stopper because of the number of agents that would have to be rolled out and then release the license on each one. I’d love to know if there is a way around it, like doing an offline client update; or where possible, batch rename the hostname of the pre-V11 clients so a new virtual client object is created?
I believe that this is not an issue but someone asked so i wanted to clarify. When you to restore files from a server, the System State show Zero Bytes. My assumption is that the area is more of a place holder and the size of the system state is included with the C: drive backup size that shows. Am I correct?
Hi,Only a small question.The File Recovery Enabler for Linux FRE is based on CentOSAs you know, RedHat stopped with CentOS, at leat they will stop the way it used to be. CentOS will become CentOS stream, and Centos 8 will become out of support end of this year.Does Commvault have any plans with regards to this? Will they switch to CentOS streams? (I think that will be difficult for support reasons?)
