Hello

Is there a way to edit the install.xml file so that running a silent install for a custom package will make the hostname to be same as the clientname?

It looks like this in the xml file.

<clientEntity hostName="" clientName="" />

Hope you can help

Thanks

Hi. Don't believe we can automate this for every single silent install to make both names identical. You can obviously edit the XML and type the name you want for both names for a specific client.

The client name is generally derived from the hostname, so they should be similar out of the box? Hostname may contain the DNS suffix (FQDN) -  is that what you are trying to eliminate?

Yes we use FQDN and need to have both client and hostnames be identical.
