I am getting this error when running a backup job for 2 servers. Has anyone seen this before?  I have other servers that can backup successfully on this Commserver.

Thanks!

Hi @tchan2700

There could be several possible reasons for this issue.
First, please verify that the client has only one active certificate: In the CommCell Console, go to Home Control Panel  Certificate Administration.
If no certificate exists, issue a temporary certificate.
Revoke any other certificates for that client.
Restart the Commvault services on the client and then resume the backup.

If the backup still fails, try repairing the agent on one of the servers and test again.

Hi @tchan2700

Can you share the logs and error screenshot to check further?

That’s the first thing I would ask anyone, but unfortunately, sharing logs isn’t allowed @Sougato Roy

@tchan2700 & @Mohammed Ramadan,
Thanks for your efforts to help here.
Due to the sensitive nature of the required information, please don't share it directly. Instead, follow the steps outlined in the guide: Configuring Data Masking for Log Files

We understand screenshots are helpful, but we need to protect the client and sensitive data they might contain. We're updating our Community Moderation guidelines to provide a clearer, approved workflow for sharing such files moving forward.

Thanks!

Roy

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for the suggestions. I worked with Support and they believe the issue is that the client is on a higher version than the Commserve version.  I am going to downgrade the clients to match Commserve and that should fix the issue. I tested it on my test server and it is backing up now.
