2024E ( 11.36) - download software

Hello,

Our Comcell is running at 11.34 and we are palnning to upgrade it to the latest LTS platform release  ( 2024E - 11.36 ).

For some reason, 11.36 does not show on the downlownd software drop-down list. Only 11.34 & 11.28.

 

Any idea what could be the reason for that ?

FR36 (aka 2024E) reached GA Status on 15th November.

I cannot remember the exact timings, but it used to take at least a couple of weeks for a new release to show under the download software drop-down in the console after GA

We have few other Commcells where 11.36 does show under the download software drop-down in the console. All running at 11.32. The one that was recently upgraded to 11.34 is having this issue.


There should not be any issue in downloading 11.36:

Images have been taken from random unlicensed cells, which did not have access to 11.36 before 15 November.

The CS must be able to reach the following URLs to retrieve the list of available downloads;

I
f that is in place, an automatic check should be done every 24hrs (or soon after services restart)

I wonder if that particular CS might not have access to the resources listed above.

You may ping the URL from command prompt to check the response status to confirm if the machine has access to resources or not.

Hi, 

We are able to use the download softaware to download other packages of 11.34 without any issues. So I guess that the required connectivity is in place.  DownloadSoftware.log  shows no errors.

We’re also able to get to the mentoined URL’s using the borwser on the Commserv machine.

Oddly, the download software drop down list shows only 11.28 & 11.34.

In addition to what Pradeep asked,

1) can you click the ‘Check updates’ on Download software screen [refer Step2  : https://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/essential/downloading_software_on_demand.html ]  and share the Autoinstallserver.log from Commserve Log files?

2) Please share the output of below query: 

select * from GXGlobalParam where name like '%patch%'

Hi All,

This looks like a bug in the system. 
We have initiated a download software job for a package that was not part of the software cache ( 11.34 ), after this job completed, 11.36 was suddenly available for download, but only this version - 11.36.1 .

We have initiated a new download software job ( for 11.36.1), once this job completed all 11.36 versions were available for download ( 11.36.24 , 11.36.28 ).

Go figure.
