Hello,

Commvault archiving doesn't stub files with error Action:[StubbingSkipped], Reason: [File has Extended Attributes]. Files have Extended Attribute $KERNEL.PURGE.CSOOA0000 set by Crowdstrike.

Is it possible to force Commvault to stub such files? Maybe using some exclusions?

Hi AndresL,

Depending on how the EA is viewed it should be included as per:
https://documentation.commvault.com/11.40/software/windows_file_system_archiving.html#what-is-not-archived

If it’s not working try setting this additional setting if you’re using Windows:
https://documentation.commvault.com/additionalsetting/barchiveeafiles.html

If you’re using Linux you can set the following:
https://documentation.commvault.com/11.40/software/configuring_system_files_to_skip_during_archive_operation.html

Hopefully these links help get your stubs created.
If you still have issues I’d suggest raising it with support to investigate.

Cheers,
Jace
