Hi,

We are getting errors if we test the active directory authentication (“domain controller” ) from the commserv java gui
Can someone tell me in which error log I can find the error?

Yup, should be EvMgrS and may have some corresponding entries in cvd.log on the CommServe

There should be a couple AD logs, ADbackup and ADcreateindex for the Active Directory iDA backup.

That’s for the backup.
I’m not talking about the backup, but the “domain controller” (ad authentication) test within the commserv java gui.

Hello @Bart ,

Have you tried checking EvMgrS.log? I checked this internally and this seems to show the information for any failed AD authentication. You can also try bumping the debug level of the log (to something like 5) from the Commvault Process Manager and testing authentication. This would provide more detail on the error in the event that there is another issue besides “invalid username / password”.

Please let me know if this helps!

Chuck
