Adding expansion modules for tape library (HPE MSL 6480)

Hi,

We will be adding 2 more expansion modules (160 slots and 16 LTO8 drives in total) for out tape library. I haven’t done this task before, so I wonder do I need to stop the Commvault service on all of my Media agents when I do the detect the new expansion modules with the Expert Storage Configuration?

That is not needed. Just put the library in maintenance mode that should be sufficient!

Hi @Onno van den Berg Thank you so much for the response. Another question, we already have 2 drive pools for the tape library, so I don’t need to select “Automatically Create DDS Drivepools” when doing the Detect library right?

Hi ,

 

Yes, that is correct we do not need the option “ Automatically create DDS Drivepools” selected.
