Forum|alt.badge.img+8

Hi All,

Is it possible to setup an alert when user logon to the Commvault/commcell/commancenter. If yes, please provide the steps.

Regards,

Rahul

I believe this is possible:

Open the Java GUI, monitor events while logging in with a user and note down the event code associated with the event.

Go to the alert section and create a new alert based on the event code.

I remember this existing but with 11.34, we are not seeing an event reporting user login.  Was this removed?

You need to use the bCreateEventForLoginAndLogout Additional Setting to generate events for successful logins / logouts. Viewing Events for Successful Login and Logout (commvault.com)

What @Erase4ndReuseMedia says is correct… the Commvault cloud (metallic / saas) has removed quite a few of these events to improve CommServe scalability and pushed them behind a opt-in. The core issue this was never properly documented and people running into this left and right.

For the record both answers by @Jos Meijer and @Erase4ndReuseMedia are the combined complete answer.

I think it is important to note that if anyone had an older alert, it would trigger on event 61:673.  The new event code is 35:1911.

Trying to run a full enterprise shop, we have issues with processes like this being swept under the rug.  I do not dislike the command center due to the UI, I dislike it due to more and more being hidden from your customer engineers.   I had a simple request from my VP turn into a research session as the event that used to exist ceased to exist.  This happens way too much anymore where UI decisions by Commvault make operations take longer; this should not be the case with an evolving solution.  I can speak for a few customers where I can say we are just disappointed.
