Hi Team,

Even though I disabled the following option on CommServe, the agent installation screen still asks for a username/password or an authentication code. Shouldn't it be prompted? How can I disable it?

Best Regards

Hi @0ber0n,

If it is asking for credentials during the install even when authentication is disabled.

Ensure the package is configured for automatic registration (with embedded authentication code or credentials).

If using a custom package, verify that the authentication method is set to "Provide authentication code" or "Provide username/password" (pre-filled), or that authentication is skipped.

If the package is set for decoupled installation, registration may still require credentials later.
For coupled installs, ensure the package is not set to prompt for authentication.
Test Installation:

Try installing the agent with the updated package. If it still prompts for credentials, recreate the package ensuring the above settings.
Reference

If you have already disabled authentication in CommServe and the package is still prompting, recreate the package ensuring it is set for automatic registration and does not require end-user authentication.

For more details on customizing package configuration and authentication options, Refer the below document

https://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/commcell-console/customize_package_configuration.html

Please let me know incase of any queries.

Regards,

Karthik

Hi @kkarthikk

If I remember correctly, when we disabled the Require authentication for Agent Installation feature, it didn't require a username/password or an authentication code during agent installation.
I think we should be able to install custom packages without adding a username/password or authentication code.
If it's absolutely necessary to add username/password or authentication information to custom packages, what's the point of disabling Require authentication for Agent Installation?

In the meantime, we are trying to install on MacOS.
