Hi,
The storage we created for the backup copy is running out of space. We shortened the retention period, but it didn't clean, now we get an error and we don't copy our backups.

Can we connect and check each other?

Thanks

Hi @Omer Yeruk ,

Can you check the retention settings under the storage policy and also verify if Data Aging job has been run?

Hi,Retention settings as well as Data Aging settings. But it is not working.

Hi @Omer Yeruk

You can run the Data retention and forecast report in order to check why the old data is not aging off.

https://documentation.commvault.com/11.28/expert/39786_data_retention_forecast_and_compliance_report_overview.html

If the data is showing aged and space is not cleared then you can check the below:

  • Check if any verification job running currently as the verification jobs will suspend the pruning.
  • Go to associated media agent and check the SIDBprune.log if the Dedupe is enable.
  • If the dedupe is not enabled then check CVMA.log
  • If you are seeing any errors there then reach out to us.
  • If there is no errors but still space is not getting reclaimed then go to the dedupe engine and check the pending prunable records. If this is higher and run the DDB space reclamation once.
