Cleaning up storage policies

Thinking of cleaning up some storage policies — maybe moving a few subclients from one policy to another to keep things tidy.

  • Qs:
    • Any risk of data loss or backup issues when moving subclients between policies?
    • Does this kind of change trigger a full backup, or will it continue incremental as usual?
      (Kinda hoping I don’t get hit with a surprise full backup… 😅

Appreciate your feedback everyone!

Hi @nicky

Changing the subclient policy to a new one will apply the retention settings of the new policy. Existing jobs run under the previous policy will continue to follow the retention settings configured earlier.

There will be no data loss. However, we recommend reviewing the document below before making any changes.
