Hello to all,

I read all similar threads about Commserve DR, but I didn’t found exactly my case.

One of our client has on-prem 1 X CS and 1 X MA for VMware backup.
Also, an additional MA in Azure, for synchronous aux copy to Blob Storage.

The case here is to test / simulate a Disaster in on-prem infrastructure and proceed some test restores to Azure.
(VMware → Azure VMs)

My concern is the way to temporary “move” the CS in Azure for the test.

The LiveSync is not an option (extra cost on Azure), so Im thinking the workaround of manually DR restore through Recovery Assistant tool.

https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/43536_testing_commserve_failover_using_disaster_recovery_dr_backups.html

Also, what about the rollback process back to on-prem CS?

Any feedback about that?

Thanks a lot!

Hi again,

So, this is the only approach for this DR test?

Build a fresh CS to DR and just restore the DR backup from CS and proceed with tests?

Thanks again!
