Hello,

I’ve been spending quite some time attempting to obtain any form of Trial for Commvault software but no luck.

I’ve recently joined new company which is using Commvault as main backup solution and am expected to learn it. Since my homelab has vcenter and hyper-v cluster me as a silly goose thought obtaining a trial licence to learn by doing would be trivial.

I’ve attempted to register and request trial quite a few times now and have gotten no response for several days - so I’m wondering what am I doing wrong?

Attempted all options AI Chatbot gave me, even got provided link by Support Agent who said something along lines - its been received and will be contacted very soon.

Kindly refer steps below to download and install trail version and let us know if any challenges are noticed while following underlined steps.

 

To download and install a Commvault trial, follow these steps:

1. Sign Up for a Commvault Cloud Free Trial

  • Go to the Cloud Services website.
  • On the top of the page, click the menu and select DASHBOARD.
  • On the Service Catalog page, click on any entity (e.g., Endpoint).
  • Fill out the free trial form and click Get started.
  • You will receive a welcome email with steps to configure Commvault Cloud.

2. Download the Commvault Software

  • Visit the Commvault Store.
  • Click Request Latest Media Kit and fill in your details.
  • You will receive an email notification when your request is complete.
  • Download the installer from the link provided.

3. Install the Commvault Software

  • For Windows: Run the downloaded installer and follow the prompts.
  • For Linux: Mount or extract the installation media, then run the installation program as root or with sudo privileges.

4. Register Your Trial

  • After installation, a pop-up window will prompt you to register.
  • Use the Username, Password, and Trial activation code from the initial email (subject: "Commvault Data Platform Software Trial").
  • Enter these details and click Register.
  • Wait for the registration to complete. You will then be able to use your Commvault software.

5. (Optional) Register for Maintenance Advantage

  • After software registration, you will receive another email to verify your email for Maintenance Advantage.
  • Click Verify Email and follow the instructions to complete your support registration.
