Commvault Virtualisation features

Hi Commvault Community,

 

Hope everyone is doing well.

 

I had some questions regarding Commvault support for some Virtualization features, the documentation wasn’t helpful for me, unfortunately.

 

  1. Does Commvault support “Continuous Data Protection” mode on virtualization platforms ? If so, which vendors it supports.
  2. Does Commvault support instant recovery and power on restore (The VM is power on through backup jobs history and in the background, the VM is being restored).

Please to share with me links to the documentation if there is any, your guidance is much appreciated.

For the second point, I believe you are looking for live recovery, if yes, please find the documentation: https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/146297_live_recovery_for_vmware_restores.html

Actually, I managed to find both links, just wanted to confirm one point, is “Live Recovery” only supported with VMware ? As for Continuous Replication, it’s the case.
