Commvault Vmware 7 backup missing /opt dir contents (possibly others). I discovered this while trying to restore files (guest files) . I then did a full vm restore out of place and the files are not there uner /opt

This is a serious issue haw can i ensure all files are backed up?

I did for a full backup still same issue

@merrittr - we would need to see logs, so best option is to open a ticket please.

Is /opt a directory under the root file system, or is it an add-on disk? e.g. Physical RDM.

https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/essential/backups_for_vmware.html
Note section for “Data You Cannot Backup” to see if your /opt falls under one of them.

You mention no resolution for over a week.  Do you have a support case open already?

Thanks,
Scott
