If netapp is managing snap mirror directly, can commvault be configured to mount and create backup copies from mirror copy created by netapp?

Or snap mirror process needs to be managed by commvault and only then a backup copy can be created from mirror copy?

The documentation above is a great start.

Addressing your questions…

If netapp is managing snap mirror directly, can commvault be configured to mount and create backup copies from mirror copy created by netapp?

No.

Or snap mirror process needs to be managed by commvault and only then a backup copy can be created from mirror copy?

Correct.

Take a look at this post that goes over the details of your question:

At the end of the day, you will likely not want to mix Commvault and NetApp snapshots though it is understandable that sometimes you may want more frequent storage snapshots which can be taken without any issues and retention managed by the storage array instead.
