Hi Community,

I can’t find anything therefore in the commvault documentation or somewere else.

Does Commvault support the Oracle Easy Connect Naming Method?
https://docs.oracle.com/en/database/oracle/oracle-database/18/ntcli/specifying-a-connection-by-using-the-easy-connect-naming-method.html#GUID-1035ABB3-5ADE-4697-A5F8-28F9F79A7504

Thank you for answers.

Tobi

@Tobi

Are you using Amazon RDS instance or on-prem?

Additionally, here are some articles you may not have seen:

These outline supported connection methods.

Hi Chris,

thanks for the quick answer!
I think it’s on-prem.

But I don’t understand how the different kinds of login/registration belongs to this.
Fo me the point is that I can specify a connection address to an Oracle Database directly from a client application, without having to configure a tnsnames setting for the Instant Client.

In this description explained how to use the TNS connect syntax correctly or Scan connect syntax.
Maybe I just don’t understand your informations?

Regards
Tobi
