Hi,

Is there a report or setting that will alert me when the Metallic side of my DR backups fails ?

Thanks

Hi @atitagain

Commvault includes a predefined alert called “Disaster recovery job failed” that notifies users when a DR backup operation fails to complete, fails to start, is stopped by the system, or when no storage policy is assigned. This alert can be enabled and tailored as needed.

Alert tokens can be used to filter and customize notifications for failures specifically related to uploading DR backups to Metallic Cloud.

In the token criteria section, you can include tokens like <FAILURE REASON>, <ERR CODE>, and <STATUS>, and configure the alert to trigger only when the failure reason contains phrases such as “upload to Metallic Cloud” or when it matches specific error codes associated with cloud upload issues.

Additionally, the Disaster Recovery Backup Job Summary Report can be used to review all DR backup jobs, including failure reasons and error codes, helping you monitor failures occurring on the Metallic side as well.

Dheeraj

Hi @Dheeraj Shetty

I have that reporting running but it does not have the Metallic details reported.

The other day when on cloud.commvault.com I not my DR SET folder was missing all the smaller DB’s like DM2, AppStudio etc etc.

Hi @atitagain,

Could you please check the CVCloudService.log on the CommServe to see if there are any errors, such as failures to upload chunks to the cloud due to connection resets during the upload to blob storage?

Also, please review the documentation on External URLs for Commvault Features related to uploading Disaster Recovery (DR) backups to Commvault Cloud, and ensure that all required URLs are properly whitelisted to allow the upload to succeed.

Hi @atitagain ,
Thanks for the update. Good to hear the DR set uploaded without any issues after removing the CommServe from the firewall rules. Let us know, once the firewall team reviews the rule set.
