Edge drive synchronisation

I have configured Edge Drive in my Commvault environment, and I have connected a laptop client to it. However, the synchronization status remains stuck on ‘preparation.

This may require more of an understanding as to what is being processed locally on the laptop within the log files… If this is a NEW deployment of the Edge Drive offering and a testing laptop, I’d say we’d want to confirm the Index Server is reporting online and configured properly. I’d also say that you’d want to ensure that the laptop client is configured to access the supporting Web Console URL, as that can definitely restrict progress on file/folder syncs.

 

If this is an existing Edge Drive, with a newly added laptop, I’d focus once again on the laptop’s Web Console access but additionally, anything that would hold back file access as in Anti-Virus / Mal-Ware detection software locally on the laptop.
