Hi,

I want to enable hardware encryption in the copies  to the tape library. I have enabled hardware encryption from Control Panel - System - Encryption - Hardware Encryption - use hardware encryption - No Access. However when I try to enable hardware encryption in the storage policy level, the option is greyed out. Kindly advise how to enable it on the Storage Policy level. Im running Commvault 11.40 and the tape library is a Fujitsu Eternus LT40 S2 with HP Ultrium 6 tape drive.

Hi Elmer,

When you set it hardware encryption in the control panel, you set the hardware encryption on global level. This would mean that it is enforced on the storage policy and therefore greyed out so you cannot disable it.

Configuring Global Level Hardware Encryption Settings
