what all are backup type possible from exadata oracle .linux 8os

image level backup is possible ?

i can see only  below for detail regarding  exadata

How do we configure backups on Oracle Exadata Database machines?

In order to back up Oracle Exadata machines do the following:

  1. Install the Oracle agent on all the Exadata nodes.

  2. Create a RAC pseudoclient that includes all the Exadata nodes.

  3. Run the backups on the pseudoclient. The backups are performed using RMAN scripts.

MediaAgents cannot be installed on Exadata database machines. They communicate with the Exadata nodes using an InfiniBand network during the backup.

Hello @Ajal

As far as documentation states, only Linux 6 is supported for Image Level Backups.

https://documentation.commvault.com/2024/expert/image_level_agent_system_requirements_01.html

That being said, Image Level Backups in general are deprecated and we recommend using Block Level backups instead though unfortunately Block Level Backups are not supported for Oracle.

Thank you,

@Ajal

You would need to install the Filesystem Agent onto the server and perform System State backups.

Thank you,
Collin
