Hi everyone,

While testing with available integration options in the ExaGrid interface, I noticed that Commvault supports only SMB / NFS, whereas Veeam offers the ExaGrid Data Mover and Veritas NetBackup supports OST.

Why does Commvault not offer a comparable native integration for ExaGrid? Does relying on SMB / NFS introduce any performance limitations or reduced functionality compared to these dedicated integrations?

I would appreciate some technical clarification on whether this is an architectural choice or a limitation of the current integration.

Best regards,
Nikos

Hi @Nikos.Kyrm - I checked in with our product managers for Storage, and I understand we don’t have enough base of customers using ExaGrid to warrant the additional investment in further storage integration. I’ll see if I can find out any more about any functional or performance limitations. I think you’ll be at SHIFT and that will be a great place to connect further with some of our technical experts on questions like this too.
