Dear Vaulters,

I have an issue with DR backups; we have configured the DR backup to keep only 12 Metadata backup, Then we began to see that failed DR backups are not deleted from their destination, which causes Space issue whereas all newer successfull DR backup are there

Need your suggestions to get rid of failed jobs data and keep only the successfull ones.

Hi @Ahmed Elbably ,

kindly follow below steps and let us know the results.

  1. SET folders are write-protected by default and cannot be manually deleted.
  2. If these are failed DR job SET folders, they will be retained for 90 days by default and then only age. However, you can add the additional setting 'SetLifeSpanForFailedDR' and modify the value to a lower number of days. Refer to the Commvault documentation on SetLifeSpanForFailedDR for more details.
  3. Add this additional setting and set the value to 1, so the failed/completed with error DR backup SET retention will be reduced to 1 day.
  4. Check the value set in 'Number of full Metadata Backups to be retained' in the Commvault console under Control Panel > DR Backup. Ensure it aligns with your DR configuration for proper cleanup of completed DR SET folders.
