@ariel_b

If you have access to the support portal website (support.commvault.com), login then access this article:

https://support.commvault.com/Article/Details/64369

If the logs show the same failures in the symptoms section, then attempt the solution steps:

Solution:

Disable the built in sd card reader or cdrom (when applicable) in the BIOS/UEFI (preferable as its harder for it to get enabled again accidently) or in windows device manager (not preferable as could be enabled again more easily)

If using a HP server also see https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-a00072259en_us

Hello @ariel_b

Have there been any hardware changes with the library? Has anything been serviced or replaced?

Thank you,
Collin

@ariel_b

Can you check the following:

  1. Verify you are using the Vendor Specific Drivers for drives and Medium Changer instead of generic drivers
  2. Check OS “Messages” log for any SCSI errors (log is found in /var/log)
  3. Check if the OS can see the drives and the Medium Changer with #cat /proc/scsi/scsi

    If the OS does see the drives:
  4. re-scan the SCSI bus with #rescan-scsi-bus.sh -a
  5. Open Expert Storage Configuration within the Java GUI and run a Device Detection
    Device Detection - https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/expert_storage_configuration_advanced.html#device-detection

Thank you,
Collin
