Hello Team,

Please advise the Commvault use firewall ports for the communicaton of Commserve, Media agent and clients always to use 8400, 8401 & 8403.

Any specific ports used for VMware VM’s, SQL, Oracle DB’s & FS backup’s.

And for Auxiliary copies between two sites MA to MA which ports to be used which ports.

Thanks in advance.

Hello @AnandK

For VMware VM’s we need Port 443 to vCenter, Ports 443 and 902 to ESXi Hosts. (From the AccessNode/Proxy to the Vmware Environment) - Ref: https://documentation.commvault.com/11.40/commcell-console/system_requirements_for_virtual_server_agent_with_vmware_02.html

For FileSystem, OracleDB and SQL Backups, The Agents are likely to be installed locally on the Host. So therefore the standard Commvault Ports would be required to transfer data to the Media Agent and Communication Traffic to the CommServe and other Commvault components.

Here’s our documentation for Required Ports: https://documentation.commvault.com/11.40/software/port_requirements_for_commvault.html

Best Regards,

Michael

Each workload has unique port requirements - you’ll have to look at the documentation for each on what is required to be open for Commvault to communicate with that application.
