Hi Commvault Team,

We are looking at migration scenario’s, where will be moving our Commserve and standby-commserve to another hosted environment (we are moving into AWS).

I have observed that some of our SQL clients have been migrated into AWS by making us of what is referred to as an MGN agent.

This agent is basically a replication agent, and it has been successfully replicating SQL databases.

So this got me thinking - would this be suitable for a Commvault commserve migration, because at the end of the day it’s SQL-based, and the replication side of things could save a lot of time with the migration into AWS.

Obviously, we need to keep an eye on supportability, but I just throught I would throw this scenario out there as it may be worth further discussion.

So, if anyone has used a volume-based replication to assist with a Commserve migration, then it would be good to hear of your experience in doing so.

Thanks

I would just use CommServe Live Sync. It works and it's supported.

Thanks,
