Hello All,

We have a VM in a domain with the 1Touch Backups, if we want to restore the VM using 1Touch to a local workgroup in VMware vCetner and in case of connectivity towards Commserve from the local client, how can we tackle this situation to establish the connectivity between local client (without Domain) in local workgroup and Commvault Commserve.

Thanks in advance.

Warm Regards,

hello @backup

I’m not sure if I fully understand this, but regarding 1-Touch with Forto Bare Metal Recovery: after restoring the new server, it will be similar to the original. Once the restoration is complete, you’ll need to update the connection between the client and the CS using CommCell console or command center

Hi @Mohamed Ramadan

Thank you for your comment.

My question here was, if we are performing a restore, but the recovery VM was not in the domain, it is in the local workgroup, incase while performing this restore, if we face any communication issue from Recovery Client to Commserve, how can we configure the network connectivity to Commserve from Recovery Client.

For your information, we have created a host entry in Commserve but the connectivity issue is from recovery VM.

hello @backup

The 1-Touch restore does not require this the Client and Commserve mush be in same domain .

You shouldn't encounter any connectivity issues, as the reason the recovery VM is in a workgroup and not in the domain with the CommServe should be manageable.

Please check that the ESXI host can communicate with the Commserver machine (network/firewall) and just mount the 1-Touch ISO and you should be good to go!
