Hi @Carol George
To configure backups for your HPE Morpheus VM Essentials (VME) cluster in Commvault, you must install the access node package on a physical node of your HPE Morpheus VM Essentials cluster. Using a VM as the access node is not supported and will result in errors. Below are the recommendations,
1. Install the Access Node Package on a Physical Node
- Download the Linux (64-bit) access node package from the Commvault Command Center.
- Extract the package on one of the physical nodes in your HPE Morpheus cluster.
- Install the package using the following command on the physical node:
sudo ./cvpkgadd - Select the Virtual Server Agent package during installation and follow the prompts to complete the process.
For full details, see the official documentation.
2. Refresh and Select the Access Node
- After installation, refresh the page in Command Center.
- When adding the HPE Morpheus hypervisor, you should now see the physical node listed as an available access node.
3. Common Issues
- Access node tile not visible: For HPE Morpheus VM Essentials, you do not add access nodes from the Manage > Infrastructure section. Instead, you install the package directly on a physical node as described above. The access node will then appear as an option when configuring the hypervisor in the Virtualization section.
- Error: Access node is not accessible to the cluster: This occurs if you try to use a VM as the access node. Only physical nodes are supported for HPE Morpheus VM Essentials.
4. Additional Requirements
- Each physical node must have at least 100 GB free disk space and 4 GB RAM (excluding OS and running applications).
- If your VMs are hosted on local storage, install the access node package on all nodes in the cluster.
