Hello,

We have a failed dive on the hyperscale X (disk library drive)

the documentation is not clear on when the physical replacement of the drive need to be

#############################################################################

Procedure

Caution

You must replace the disk using the Command Center, as shown in the following steps. Attempting to manually replace a disk might make the disk ineligible for replacement.

  1. From the navigation, click Storage > HyperScale.

    The HyperScale page appears.

  2. In the Name column, click the <storage pool> that has the disk that you want to replace.

    The <storage pool> page appears.

  3. On the Nodes tab, click Column Settings (Recovering an HyperScale X Appliance Node (5)) and then click Columns > Actions.

The Actions column will be displayed.

  4. In the node that has the disk that needs to be replaced, click the Actions button action_button, and then click Replace drives.

The Confirm replace dialog box is displayed.

  5. Verify the MediaAgent name and make sure that it is associated with the node that has the disk that needs to be replaced., and then click Yes.

###########################################################################

On which step does the physical replacement need to be? before step 5 or after?

Hi @LiorRN ,

The procedure in the documentation is to be followed after the disk is physically replaced. Replacing from command center using the specified procedure formats the disk and mounts it and then starts rebalancing all of those which needs to be performed on the newly replaced disk.

So the order should be as follows,

  1. Once the disk is disabled in CvFS replace the disk physically.
  2. After that follow the procedure from documentation for logical replacement.
