Currently there are 2 servers, one of which has MS SQL on it for a business application. and the other has a media agent and file services etc. on it. They want to put everything on one server, can the MS SQL and the Media agent function on the same server. The server will be running Window Server 2022, with a MS SQL database running on it, along with file services etc. Will it work. suggestions. etc.

It's important to ensure that the server has sufficient resources (CPU, RAM, storage) to handle the Media Agent's workload effectively.
As a best practice, deploying the MA in separate hardware is good.

As I know it is possible to do that, but it is not recommended to have the same server Media Agent and client backup server on the same machine. Please be aware what’s happened if You lose SQL machine and Media Agent as one server, it could be difficult to restore the data in the end, because You need to redeploy new Media Agent machine.
