Is DPM 2012to Commvault Data Migration Possible?

Best answer by Damian Andre

Yes, I believe so. DPM is listed as supported for our third-party migration tool using objectstore.

Check this out: https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/essential/98270_migrating_dpm_data_to_objectstore.html

Basically, it creates a temporary network share (objectstore) and then restores the data from DPM into that share for ingestion. I have not done it myself, but the docs are there.

@Jinmi , are you looking to migrate the actual backups or the history?  I don’t think we can do the former, though I can look into the latter (we have some tools that import other vendor’s history, but not sure if DPM is one).

Hello Mike,

I was referring to the actual backups.

Warm Regards,
