Hi Commvault Community,

CommCell server is running on a virtual machine with version 11.36.28 and Windows 2016 as the operating system. Planning to perform an hardware refresh using the same network configuration (ip and hostname) into a virtual machine with Windows 2022

The documentation link:

https://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/expert/commserve_hardware_refresh_setting_up_commserve_database_in_new_hardware.html

It doesn't matter which procedure I follow—whether I import the database dump during the installation or create a new database and then import the dump using CSRecoveryAssistant.

When I finish the import and go to the CommCell properties, I see the following errors:

  1. In the CommCell properties, I see "Missing Packages: TaskManager.DB."
  1. Also, in the CommCell properties, I see Status “Unknow” in the Intalled Packages

I have created a support case with the following number “241104-493”

The support engineer informed me that the TaskManagerDB was designed for SQL performance monitoring and is no longer in use, it been removed in SP36.

The support engineer is still investigating the reason for the "Missing Package" error message.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

Hi @jla ,

1.b Status might be shown as ‘Unknown’ because the download software job might not have run on the setup once the hardware refresh is done. Software Cache might be empty in this case.

1.a I will check further on the ticket “241104-493”

1.b You're absolutely right!! I hadn’t noticed. Since I'm testing in an isolated environment before doing it in prod, I don't have internet connection to refresh the software cache or download it again.

The issue was resolved:

1- Pointing to the Software Cache Directory and Commit Cache (or simply, download again)

2- Reboot the Commcell Server or Restart Services.

Hi,

What was the resolution for point A?

“In the CommCell properties, I see "Missing Packages: TaskManager.DB.”

I am facing a similar issue in m environment as well, after upgrading the version to 11.36
