Hello,

we are deploying our MSP Environment for MS365 and we found some issues with this in combination with some features where documented but not in the console for some reason. In Detail we are looking for adding users over ad groups for onedrive for business which is documented in theat link but not in the console. We can only add users and this is in big teants a not useable way from my point of view because when you thinking about a big tenant with something like 1000 users you can not add manually this, it is an big error source from my point of view and the feature is there for mailboxes from MS365 which is great but not for onedrive for business.

thanks for your replys and your support in that question !

Hello Philipp!

We have the ability to auto discover users (similar to mailbox) for OneDrive, we do however prefer that customers use the Command Center Console rather than the Java Console as it includes several benefits including automation for subclient creation - the Java Console provides the capability however it is much more labour intensive.

Could you please confirm for me what version and feature release you currently have deployed?

Command Center: Instructions for enabling auto discovery: https://documentation.commvault.com/11.22/essential/93473_enabling_autodiscovery_of_user_accounts_for_onedrive_for_business.html

Command Center: Instructions for configuring AD discovery: https://documentation.commvault.com/11.22/essential/93697_autodiscovering_user_accounts_for_onedrive_for_business_using_azure_affinity_groups.html

In order for you to review the Java Console instructions, you must sign into BOL and refer to the ‘expert’ instructions as per:

Java GUI: Configuring Auto Discovery at the instance level: https://documentation.commvault.com/11.22/expert/30225_configuring_user_account_auto_discovery_at_instance_level.html

Java GUI: Configuring auto discovery via AD: https://documentation.commvault.com/11.22/expert/30238_discovering_user_accounts_automatically_using_group_affinity.html

Could you please review the above and let me know if this helps?

Hello Chris,

many thanks for your reply !

we are using 21.15 and we only run the configuration in the command center, but can i filter on groups when i have autodiscover in place ? Reason is very simple, when you have a bigger tenant and you may not want to backup everything

Cheers
