Hello All,

After adding a data file to the MSSQL database, it's normal for log backup to convert to full backup. However, after converting log backup to full backup, the server experiences excessive CPU consumption, reaching 100%. Is this normal behavior, what is the reason, and how can we solve it?

Meanwhile, we don't observe too much CPU increase when running a normal full backup.

Hi @ETO ,

Good day!

Backups getting converted to full is expected but not the CPU utilization it could be due to new data to be processed.

you can reduce the no of streams or add the below key to check if it helps

https://documentation.commvault.com/additionalsetting/ssdtheadmaxcpuusage.html
