Hi everyone.

I am trying to build new small commvault lab with commserve on windows, plus one extra windows box with media agent and one same for linux media agent for VMware. Package which was provided to me is called FullMediaKit-Windows-40-CU60. During the installation I am selecting all-in-one  and proceed further. Installer goes to client installation and want to put commserve or GW hostname. On the same machine Commserve should be installed during the same installation but when I put there localhost it is not proceeding further. What I am thinking, whether my mediakit have all needed software to install commserve and client at the same time. From version info I can see below information

[Image Information]
Version=11.80.400.0
ServicePack=40
SPTranID=7482319
UnixTime=1748308815
RevisionNumber=1372
LinkedRevId=1372
ReducedMedia=1

My package have 10GB size.

Can someone help me confirm whether I have good installer?

I think that its not installing commserve but just only client and trying to (want to) connect to existing commserve but I am not sure.

If I am right, can someone put me here which package should I have to make fresh full installation?

Thank you for understanding.

Hi @listek06

You have the correct package for Windows commserve, but the problem is that, Commvault no longer recommend installing Commserve on windows machines, Linux is recommended now and going forward starting of 11.40 and above

New installations of the control plane on Windows require an additional setting to work. For instructions, see Enabling Windows Installations for Commvault.

To work around this and proceed with installing commserve on windows, please use the registery key and follow the docs

Installing the CommServe Server in a Windows Environment

Thanks,
