Openstack CBT

There are currently no plans to add CBT support to Openstack, because the platform doesnt provide native APIs for this functionality. If this is a critical requirement, please do get in touch with the account team to get it added to the roadmap.

One thing to note, however, is that incremental backups are still possible and use the CRC method.

Alternatively, we have plan to add IntelliSnap support for Openstack. This should also help with faster backup times. Please keep this in your planning.

​@Gayathri Hello, so till now I can see no intellisnap support for Openstack Hypervisor.

• Is this correct? 
• Have you information regarding roadmap?
• Is there a offcial CMR?

​@Marcel Geisen I have raised a CMR for it some time ago. However, until now there is no CBT support, but I did see comments being made that CBT will be added to the upcoming Openstack release and also noticed some storage vendors like Pure Storage are actually working on adding support for it to their Cinder driver. Our CMR number is 546224 and I have updated our contacts within Commvault with supporting information.

thank you for the update, this is very interesting. So CMR 546224 from you is to implement CBT support for Openstack? If this is the case, I would write our Partner Manager to add us to this CMR.

We have two other CMR open regarding Openstack:

CMR 414250 – Intellisnap Support for Openstack was opened by someone else we are added to this would be great if you or other can also add two this CMR to get there more power behind, because this would be a game change in Backup/Restore process.

CMR 524189 - Add Filter Rule for Openstack Hypervisor - opened by us to have basic Filtering by Tags for  VMs
