I ma getting backup failure in our openstack vm’s due to Insufficient cinder quota to create VM Snapshot: Failed to meet minimum 10 percent avaliable quota limit. Available: 176 GB, Required: 500 GB, In-Use: 4824 GB (out of 5000).

Is there away to increase cinder volume and as well as decrease the cinder quota( where to do this)?

Hi @r0lansaad

Thanks for the question.

The error appears to suggest that the cinder volume size in OpenStack isn’t sufficiently large to perform the snap operation. It seems headroom of 10% space is needed to allow the snap.

If you have space available, you can resize the cinder volume in OpenStack.

OpenStack Documentation:

Manage volumes

Manage volumes - resize a volume

Thanks,

Stuart
