Question

Persistent Log Backups for DB2

Forum|alt.badge.img+7

Hi together,

currently we have an issue with a to high number of DB2 log backups. We are approaching more than 20K jobs each day.

The threshold for log backups is set to 2 (sDb2ThresholdALFN) due to the requirement that almost no transaction log information should be lost in the case of a desaster.

This setting creates a very high number of jobs in Commvault.

For HANA we can use the persistent log backups … i.e. Commvault creates one job that is running for 6 hours and is collecting all the log backups in this time period.

Is it possible to use something like this for DB2?

Regards.

Michael

Hi CV_GK,

thank you for this link. I am already aware of the configuration details for the log backup. My problem is the huge amount of jobs that are created … and I am looking for a solution similar to the HANA persistent log backup. Maybe there is another solution?

Regards.

Michael
