planning to Upgrade to SP24

Hey Team,

 

I am planning to upgrade the commserve from SP20 to SP24, is there anything i need to be aware or carefully before doing it. hope i can directly goto sp24 from sp20 ? is there any pre-check or comparability need to be taken care.

Hi,

What I would tipically recommend;

  1. Make sure you have downloaded the necessary packages to your CommServe ahead of time.
  2. Currently you can automatic download the V11.FR24.HotfixPack34 - Link go over the list of updates and see what applies to your environment, so you know what are the impacted agents and fixes
  3. Plan a window. Usually between jumps from FR to FR, the installation can take a significant amount of time (around 50min+)
  4. Make sure to follow the docs. Suspend CS activity. No jobs running.
    1. Apply CS first then Media Agents then clients.
  5. Once you have applied to CS and MAs, make sure everything is communicating back again.
