Hi all.

In PostgreSQL 17 incremental backups have been introduced, is this supported by Commvault?

Hi Anders,

Commvault do not support the way postgres has implemented the incremental backup. Incremental backup support from PostgreSQL uses staging of the data from full backup. Commvault supports log only backups which do not require any staging and ensures restoring server to any point in time. User can continuously run log backups with a weekly/monthly full backup. This the case with streaming backup. For a block level backup, incremental snap backup and synthetic full is supported.
