PostgreSql block level backup media agent error

Hi @BillyBoo 

MediaAgent package is a required package for performing IntelliSnap/BlockLevel operations even though it’s LVM snap. Can you please install MA package on this Postgres server and try again?

I also had to change the posgres data path.thank you 👏.

after full backup.transaction logs backup run immediatly but it gives error messages  ike this.

Description: PostgreSQL Database: The Data backup has failed. Archive Log files are missing preventing this job from completing on Instance [~postgre_5432~] Client [~postgre~]. Please run a FULL backup. Source: postgre, Process: PostGresLogBackupParent”
 

how can i fix that . also what is the best plan config for postgresql blockbased bacup.i need the log backup every 2 hours

Hi @BillyBoo ,

Is there any archive log cleanup happening outside Commvault backups? If there is any Archive log is missing from Archive directory, we need to run the next backup as full to ensure we don’t have a broken sequence of logs which impacts PIT recoverability.

For achieving 2 hours log backup, you can schedule an automatic log backup schedule with 2 hours max interval.

Hİ @Sunil  there is no other log cleanup sw except commvault.

i already tried full backup  2-3 times all job gives same error messages. i saw commvault create backup log but always give  error messages.

i fixed the error.

Solutions:  i moved the wal volume to nonroot volume after that  , block backup worked without any problems.
