Hi,

Just tried to install Commvault agent (with File System Core and File System packages ) on a new  Redhat Linux 4 Server but got the below error message

The CommServe version is 11.25.23

Checked the username (which is root) and password using SSH, no problem.

So, it seems to me, it is the Commvault that is not happy somewhere.

I’m just wondering if somebody could point me to the right direction as to where to start to investigate the above issue ?

Thanks,

Kelvin

Your only other option may be to look at using a V10 agent as it was at least a supported OS back then in Commvault.

Hello @Kelvin

Unfortunately, we do not support Red Hat V4  - https://documentation.commvault.com/11.25/expert/3146_linux_file_system_agent_system_requirements.html

Red Hat 5.x is the earlier version we support. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks

Yeah, RH ended Extended support for RH 4 in 2017.

I would look at using a supported OS as I expect that RH 4 will contain many vulnerabilities that will not be patched as the vendor no longer supports it.

If you must use it, is it a VM? If so can you perform a VM level backup instead of agent based? That way you wouldn't need to install an agent.
