Recover data from tape without CommVault instance

Hello Everyone,

Is it possible to recover data from a tape that was used in a previous CV instance?

For example, data was previously backed up to tape using CV instance.  Then a few years later that CV instance was uninstalled and no longer exists.  

Is there a way to recover data from that tape using any CV tools?
