I had this issue; wherein I had installed Linux agent; which took a bit of time and waited on Registering screen during the install. After the install it would not show up on the Commserve console screen; I had tried closing console; opening it; restarting services on the server.
Finally had to do the repair install which is an option one gets when you rerun ./cvpkgadd
